As part of the Early "Blue Works" project, I created a digital archive by collecting images daily, documenting the food found in my home environment during the pandemic of Covid-19. This collection was an exploration of the origins of the traditional dishes I grew up with. From this research, I developed a printed installation displaying it in public spaces near local eateries and Russian delicatessens in Haifa.
The installation presents a collage of images from my visual diary as a generic advertising product, highlighting the tension between personal and private feeling and the social collective aspect. As well as the gap between the food and the culture it originates from. The intimate, fleeting nature of the images invites viewers to engage with the menu of a fictitious restaurant I set up, encouraging a deeper reflection on traditions and cultural identities that have established over the years in Israel.
